A Full Bleach Out is for the client who doesn’t want ribbons of blonde, dimension, or darker pieces left throughout the hair.

We are lightening the entire head.

No foils creating intentional dark spaces.

No brunette underneath.

No “just brighten me around the face.”

The goal is to create an overall lighter canvas from roots through ends.

And depending on what you want to do next, that canvas can take you in several completely different directions.

What Does a Full Bleach Out Look Like?

Think:

✨ Platinum blonde✨ Icy blonde✨ Pale blonde✨ All-over fashion blonde✨ A blank canvas for vivid color

Instead of seeing highlighted pieces sitting next to your natural color, the overall hair is lightened.

That creates a much more dramatic result.

But it also means your new growth becomes much more noticeable as it comes in.

And that’s where maintenance becomes very important.

Full Bleach Out vs. Full Highlight

These are not the same service.

Full Highlight

We selectively lighten strands throughout the entire head.

Some of your natural color remains between the foils.

The result is:

dimension + contrast + ribbons of lightness

Full Bleach Out

We are lightening essentially the entire canvas.

The result is:

all-over lightness

That distinction affects your appointment time, maintenance schedule, price, and what your hair can safely tolerate.

What Can We Do After a Full Bleach Out?

This is where it gets fun.

Once we create an even, light enough canvas, we have options.

1. Bleach + Tone

For Platinum, Icy or Customized Blonde

After lightening, we tone the hair to create the finished blonde.

Depending on your starting point and your goal, that could be:

• Creamy blonde

• Beige blonde

• Pearl

• Icy blonde

• Platinum

• Silver

• Champagne

• Soft neutral blonde

Bleach creates the level of lightness.

Toner creates the finished shade.

Those are two different jobs.

2. Prep for Vivid Hair Color 🌈

A Full Bleach Out can also create the canvas needed for vivid colors.

Think:

💗 Pink💙 Blue💜 Purple💚 Green🧡 Orange❤️ Red🩵 Pastels

But here's something clients don't always realize:

Not every vivid requires the exact same level of blonde.

A deep jewel-toned purple may work beautifully over a different level than a pastel lavender.

Pastels generally need a much lighter and cleaner canvas, because any remaining yellow or warmth can affect the final color.

It's just like painting.

If I put pale lavender paint over a yellow wall, I'm not necessarily going to get the lavender you saw in the swatch.

The canvas matters.

3. Color Transformations

A Full Bleach Out can also be part of a larger corrective or creative color plan.

For example:

Dark hair → Light canvas → Rose gold

Dark hair → Light canvas → Copper

Dark hair → Light canvas → Vivid pink

Dark hair → Light canvas → Platinum

But sometimes that transformation cannot safely happen in one appointment.

And this is where Hair Therapy comes before Instagram inspiration. 💚

I'm always looking at:

• Previous color

• Hair condition

• Elasticity

• Porosity

• Density

• Starting level

• Desired result

We can always keep working toward lighter hair.

We cannot glue severely compromised hair back onto your head.

So…What Is a Bleach Retouch?

Once you've had a Full Bleach Out and love your all-over blonde, we don't repeatedly bleach your entire head.

Now you're maintaining the new growth.

That's your:

Bleach Retouch

The lightener is carefully applied to the darker hair that has grown in since your previous appointment.

The previously lightened hair should be protected from unnecessary overlap as much as possible.

That's why timing your appointments matters.

When Should I Come Back for My Bleach Retouch?

For most all-over blondes, I like the idea of staying roughly in the:

4–6 week range

Why?

Because once the regrowth gets too long, achieving an even blonde can become more difficult.

The heat from your scalp helps the lightener process differently close to the scalp.

If you wait too long, we may have:

• A lighter area closest to the scalp

• A darker or warmer band farther away

• More complicated correction work

• More time required

• More risk of overlapping previously lightened hair

Translation:

That little half-inch of roots is much easier to manage than several inches of regrowth.

“But Sparkle…I Don’t Mind My Roots.”

And aesthetically, you may not.

You might actually like seeing some dark root.

But a bleach retouch schedule isn't only about whether the roots bother you visually.

It's also about keeping the lightening process controlled and predictable.

If you know you don't want to maintain an all-over blonde every 4–6 weeks, that's something we should talk about before doing the Full Bleach Out.

You may actually be happier with:

• Highlights

• Balayage

• A root melt

• A lived-in blonde

Those give you much more flexibility between appointments.

What Happens If I Wait Too Long?

Don't panic.

It doesn't mean your hair is ruined.

But your appointment may become more involved.

Instead of a straightforward bleach retouch, we may need additional lightening or corrective work to create an even result.

So if you're committed to being a global blonde:

Keep your appointments.

Your future self—and your stylist—will thank you. 😂

What About the Ends?

Here's another really important difference.

During a routine bleach retouch, the goal is not to repeatedly drag bleach through already-light blonde ends.

Those ends have already been chemically processed.

That's where professional application becomes extremely important.

Repeated overlap can contribute to:

• Breakage

• Excessive dryness

• Loss of elasticity

• Increased porosity

• Fragile ends

Sometimes previously lightened hair may need additional work for a specific reason, but that decision should be intentional—not automatic.

Home Care Matters A LOT

A Full Bleach Out is beautiful…

But you have to take care of it.

I recommend focusing on:

💧 Moisture

Use a quality hydrating shampoo, conditioner, and mask.

💪 Strength

Lightened hair may benefit from bond-supporting or strengthening treatments depending on its condition.

🔥 Heat Protection

Please don't spend hours getting your hair beautifully lightened and then flat iron it at maximum temperature every morning.

Heat protection matters.

💜 Purple Shampoo

Purple shampoo can help manage unwanted yellow tones, but more is not always better.

It is a maintenance tool—not your everyday shampoo.

✂️ Regular Trims

Healthy-looking platinum hair still needs healthy ends.
